Natural Diamond Council x Lorraine Schwartz Emerging Designers Diamond Initiative
The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) and celebrated jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz created the EDDI, a program that provides opportunities, removes barriers to entry and offers unparalleled access to industry education and resources to Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) jewelry designers. We are proud to present a collection of extraordinary pieces by six talented designers participating this year, including Casey Perez, Corey Anthony Jones (Gaudy Atelier), Halle Millien (Heart the Stones), Lana Ogilvie (Sabre Jewelry), Mckenzie Liautaud and Ruben Manuel.

This Victorian-era art-deco style dignified with Venice blue topaz, blue sapphire, and diamond earring is gorgeous. The earring design is inspired by our passion for astronomy with the eclipse in the sky when both the sun and moon emerge together. The mixed size of solitaire oval blue topazes are finely placed to form the waning gibbous (¾ moon) with the blue sapphires covering the gaps in-between the blue topazes completing the night-sky part of the earring.
The blue topazes are fully surrounded from all sides by a layer of pave set round diamonds to form the perfect moon shape, as the open cluster of pave-set diamonds forms the round hollow hole, showing the blazing sun over the moon bringing out the beginning of a new day. It’s truly a special unique design picturesquely created to show our love for the infinite sky.
