Plastic wall mount taped down on verso. Provenance: The More Gallery INC, Philadelphia; Aramark Corporate Collection. Randall Exon (b. 1956) was born in Vermillion, South Dakota. Exon earned his B.F.A. in painting from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and an M.F.A. at the University of Iowa. In 2003, the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, staged a solo exhibition of his work. He was awarded the Thomas Benedict Clarke Prize in the 2004 179th Annual Invitation Exhibition of Contemporary American Art at the National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts, New York. More recently, Exon’s work was featured in Visions of the Susquehanna, a traveling exhibition organized by the Lancaster Museum of Art, Pennsylvania, in 2008, and Haunting Narratives, a major exhibition at the Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia, in 2012. Cherry Blossom Dream by Sophia Chalklen is an original painting. One day I was sat looking up at a cherry blossom tree and thought how beautiful it looked from that angle. I took a photo and had to paint it. The beautiful light breaking through made it even more beautiful. I have used various metallic pink leaf as well as 24ct gold leaf on the trunk to create that extra sparkle and magic as the light hits the painting. Due to the nature of the metallic leaf it looks different in different light. Contemporary artist Sophia Chalklen sold online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Sophia has always had a strong passion for Art ever since she was a child. Sophia studied at Winchester school of Art where she completed a BA specialising in Textile design. After achieving her BA she went on to become a Freelance Printed Textile designer for a small company in London. Shortly after that she managed to get a job as a Fine Jewellery Designer for the Crown Jewellers, Asprey and Garrard Bond St. Sophia became a specialist in designing high end Jewellery, accessories, and ornaments for English and Middle Eastern Royalty and the Elite. She also designed a great variety of items including rings, Jewellery Suites, watches, cufflinks, Jewel incrusted clocks, tiaras and precious ornaments. Her eye for detail leant well to her career in jewellery design and she became an expert in her field.
