A Chinese Qing Dynasty period jewelry cabinet from the 19th century with star-carved open shelf, double doors, large brass medallion lock and carved apron. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, this jewelry cabinet features a narrow rectangular top with recessed panel, overhanging a lovely façade. An open shelf surrounded by a carved décor showcasing two birds surrounding a central star, makes up the upper portion of the cabinet. Below, a pair of double doors, fitted with a large traditional brass medallion with ornate pulls, open to reveal a small storage space. The cabinet is raised on four straight legs connected to one another through a carved apron in the front. We review all of our pieces and address issues we may find before they leave for your home; however, this is an antique piece, and as such it will keep its character and some imperfections, which is the quintessence of antique and vintage furniture. A Chinese two part eight-panel wooden screen from the early 20th century, with low-relief carvings, gilt motifs and calligraphy. Created in China during the early years of the 20th century, this screen features a brown lacquered ground accented with dark red highlights, and adorned with low-relief-carved motifs in its upper section, depicting scrolling cartouches with central rosettes. Each panel showcases a vertical organization of gilded calligraphy in the center, followed by an horizontal section with scrollwork surrounding a central medallion. The lower part is adorned with additional motifs carved in low relief, depicting either vases, birds and flowers, fishes or monkeys. The ensemble is completed by meanders creating a perfect visual punctuation. The screen is currently made of two parts with four panels each.
