Born in Tennessee, Lindy Chambers, an identical twin, spent her youth drawing and riding horses with her twin sister LeeLee Brazeal before moving to Texas in 1972.
Lindy has loved animals forever, and her favorite paintings and drawings are of animals. However, she has avoided painting horses until now because she knows horses so well. Lindy's new series includes all variety of animals, including horses.
Lindy Chambers says:
"When I start to paint, the color is intuitive, and the process is spontaneous. I try to listen to the canvas and react to it. I follow the river of the subconscious - it is all about exploration and revelations along the way. My attention is drawn to the relationship of forms - and to unrecognizable shapes that are thought provoking and unworldly."

Eugene Alexis Girardet (1853-1907) was a prominent Swiss painter known for his remarkable attention to detail and his ability to capture vivid and dynamic scenes. Born in Paris, France, Girardet came from a family of artists and received early artistic training from his father, Paul Girardet, and his uncle, Jules Girardet, both respected engravers. He later studied at the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he honed his skills and developed a deep appreciation for historical and orientalist subjects.
He was interred at the Père-Lachaise Cemetery. In addition to several museums in France, his works may be seen at the Dahesh Museum of Art and the National Museum of Fine Arts of Algiers, as well as at museums in Switzerland and New York City.
Girardet’s artwork often depicted historical and exotic scenes, particularly focusing on Middle Eastern and North African themes. His meticulous attention to detail and his ability to convey a sense of movement and drama made his works highly sought after. In “My Best Friend” Girard has captured a tender symbiotic relationship between the woman and her sweet pet. The entire piece swirls with the soft beauty and magical exchange shared by the two individuals. The frame does not enclose so much as enfolds the scene and its decorations are an integral part of the work. Upon close inspection tiny animal figures cavort in the air adding to the spell - almost like fairy characters from Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer’s Night Dream.” The jewelry is beautifully render as are the loving expressions of the faces of both the animal and the woman. The composition is filled with objects and figures but captured softly and in rich detail. The figures appear to be completely self-absorbed and the decorative elements about their heads could suggest the intensity of their thoughts and feelings.
