About the Item
A Large Chinese Ochre brown glazed martaban jar with dragon motifs.
A beautiful large dark brown ochre glazed jar with broad shoulders and a thick-lipped narrow mouth. The glaze has a “poured effect” that results in the natural clay at the bottom remaining exposed. Elaborate dragon motifs dance around the vessel in high relief. Four small handles decorate each side. Very good condition overall. Light wear to finish, some fading.
