An exceptional & monumental 22" pair of antique Japanese Meiji period porcelain chargers/plates, circa 1880.
Each charger being finely & lavishly hand-decorated with underglaze blue & red iron oxide panels heightend with gilded decoration. The central circular reserve is decorated with a floral panel with birds, the outer decoration having four panels with prunus & foliate decoration & Japanese figures in a pastoral setting. The chargers also having red oxide glazed panels with gilded decoration & a pair of circular red Japanese mon symbols.
The reverse of each charger having four handpainted floral panels with butterflies and a central floral sprig signature to the center.
Both chargers are in excellent condition, no damage or restoration, the chargers come with a pair of custom hard wood stands. These are the finest pair of Imari chargers...

From our Japanese collection, we are delighted to offer this Japanese Satsuma Natsume by Kinkozan. The Natsume of elongated rectangular form with four recessed panels each bordered by a gilt foliage decoration. The Natsume raised upon a square base with a scalloped centre. The top of the Satsuma finished with the original lid with matching gilt foliage decoration. The panels of the Satsuma decorated with multiple figures in various pursuits framed within a shaped recesses. The base of the Satsuma is signed with the Kinkozan mark. The Natsume dates to the Meiji Period (1868-1912) circa 1890.

An Exceptionally Fine Quality Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vase of unusually large proportions, early Meiji period (1868-1912) and of Museum quality.
The main tapering oviform body with everted neck, with exquisite translucent rich dark shades of red enamel over an engraved and chased silver foil ground depicting bamboo leaf decoration. Top rim and base are mounted in bronze.
Mark at base as shown, see images.
Condition: Good condition with nice surface patination, one bruise loss to surface at shoulder area which shows where glass is absent, see image towards end.
Height: (an impressive) 12” (30.5cm). Diameter: (at widest area) 7” (18cm).
