About the Item
A bronze vase with mixed metal inlay applications, including silver, gilt bronze, and patinated bronze, featuring at its center an onagadori rooster perched on a blossoming plum (ume) branch.
The vase is signed Toshiji on the side and bears a second engraved signature underneath the base: Kuroda.
The Kuroda Company was one of the manufacturers active in the production of decorative bronzes between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
