Japanese Three Authentic Bamboo Water Ladles "Hishaku" Fine Handcrafted Quality

About the Item

This is one set of three (3) authentic Japanese made bamboo water ladles -hishaku- handcrafted new quality and often seen in use at Buddhist, Shinto shrines, and private gardens. The Japanese tea ceremony, also called the Way of Tea, is a Japanese cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha, powdered green tea. In Japanese, it is called chanoyu or chad. The manner in which it is performed, or the art of its performance, is called otemae. The hishaku is a long bamboo ladle with a nodule in the approximate center of the handle. It is used to transfer hot water from the iron pot (kama) to the Chawan when making tea. Different sizes of hishaku are used for different ceremonies and in different seasons. We acquired a group of these beautifully crafted ladles for our clients on one of our many buying trips to Japan. Dimensions: 16.5 inches in length and the cup is 3 inches diameter Possibilities: Perfect for tea ceremonies, garden water basins, and gifting - these are authentic Japanese handcrafted ones. Lifetime guarantee of authenticity. All our Asian works of art are accompanied by our lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
