Wonderful vintage Tropitone outdoor chairs with vinyl straps & cushions, set of 6. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The chair frames and cushions have been pressure washed and professionally cleaned. We have touched up some places on the frames with Krylon ivory gloss and we have ordered new feet for the chairs. The cushions still have some stubborn stains after cleaning and two of the cushions are a slightly different color of white from the rest. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Mid-20th Century.

This is a lovely set of six mid-century modern outdoor dining chairs by Tropitone comprised of fabulous weather resistant ivory painted aluminum frames and uv-resistant vinyl back and seat straps. They have their original loose seat cushions featuring blue and white striped weather resistant fabric covers. Two of the chairs are a little more ivory than white, it’s the way we obtained them, And they’re FABULOUS!! We believe that these are an older “vintage” version of the current Khana chair by Tropitone because these have straight backs not curved; tubular arms slightly flared outward not straight; as well as slightly curved legs. It’s a comfortable, sturdy design ready to surround any style outdoor table. And, if you’re in search of outdoor tables as well, check out the many options we have listed here for sale! They are ready to be the new vintage addition to your patio, deck, porch, or out by the pool. Tropitone was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1954 by Burt M. Baker, a retired Lockhead Engineer and executive at Grand Rapids Chair Company. Tropitone served the contract market, including hotels, motels, clubs, and resorts with high performing outdoor patio furniture. In the 1960’s they introduced powder coated aluminum finishes to the industry. Utilizing a multi-step wash process that ensures a lasting finish, Tropitone’s aluminum frames prevail under any environmental conditions. Tropitone also pioneered the technique of double-wrapping vinyl straps around the powder coated aluminum frame for extra durability, which continues today. In 1970’s they established operations in Irvine, California which provided a bi-coastal manufacturing to North American customers. In the 80’s they released “Comfort is Key” cushions and sling seating. Tropitone sling seating has the perfect combination of clean lines, designer fabrics and carefree maintenance. In the 90’s EZ Span and Basta Sole Umbrellas were introduced and in the 2000’s woven furniture and Relax Plus cushion seating was created including replications of rattan or wicker outdoor furniture. Tropitone continued to launch new systems for their furniture from 2000 through 2014 when they celebrated their 60 years in business when they joined forces with Brown Jordan International.

Rare and spectacular 10 pc set of extraordinary iron patio outdoor furniture by Russell Woodard c 1955. Sofa, 4 chairs and 5 tables 3 with obscure glass tops. Set has full cushions which may need replacement. I am going to wash a few and see how they turnout. Will update. Believe the pattern to be Chantilly Rose, however I have never seen it with branch like forged iron. Each leg or back brace is scribbed like a tree branch with treelike, bark, cast into the iron.
Truly a work of art. The back legs on all the chairs and sofa, extend back about 14 inches and give the chairs, sofa a pronounced and unique look, the most comfortable chairs ever! And in excellent vintage condition with it needing a paint job. The iron is well preserved.

The set consists of a three seat sofa, an extra large arm chair with magazine pocket and its large companion arm chair, As per the catalogue: these deep seated chairs were modeled on a Chinese boat chair that was fashionable in the 1920s.The matching triple hump curved back sofa continues this modern movement with its high curved arms. A very impressive, comfortable and stylish matching suite.

Lamb’s adventurous creations inspired many designers who followed. The seating and tables crafted by other mid-century furniture makers noted for their seminal patio and garden works — a list that includes Hendrik Van Keppel and Taylor Green, Russell Woodard and Woodard Furniture, Maurizio Tempestini and Richard Schultz — remain highly sought after by collectors today.
