Set of 4 English Arts & Crafts Glazed Floral Tiles
By Pilkington's Royal Lancastrian Pottery Company, Lewis Foreman Day
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
Four 6-inch English arts and crafts era glazed floral tiles, circa 1900, attributed to Lewis Foreman Day for Pilkington’s Tile and Pottery Co. It is well-known that while not all Pilkington's tile were signed, initial designs were marked with a single letter 'P' to the reverse. From around 1900 onwards, this was later adapted to be a pair of letter 'P's, impressed on opposite sides of the tile with a 5 bar back. 19th century architect and decorative designer, Lewis Foreman Day (1845-1910), was artistic consultant for Pilkington’s as one of the leading designers of the arts and crafts movement. Several of his pottery works can be found in The British Museum and the V&A, including this tile of a similar design made for Pilkington’s at Clifton Junction dating to around 1900. Each decorated with a stylised red glazed flower among green leaves and vines on a rich dark blue backdrop, these four tiles together create a 62 cm square (24.5 inch) decorative panel, making a beautiful floral artwork piece for the walls of an interior. Alternatively, these antique English tiles...

Located in Llanbrynmair, GB
Discover the timeless beauty of this antique carved stone planter. An early piece, circa 1900, the piece showcases the rich, natural patina that develops over a lifetime. The gentle curved D-shape and irregular surface create a striking, sculptural silhouette that complements both modern and traditional decor. The D-shaped design makes it perfect to put against a wall or as a standalone piece, ample room to display your favourite plants, succulents, or fresh herbs. Whether placed indoors or out, this planter adds a zen-inspired, nature-infused accent with its unique character and charm. Durable enough for outdoor use, or if preferred to use inside, this antique planter brings a touch of the outdoors in. The planter appears to have a small drainage hole, if using indoors, care sound be taken to ensure no leakage or staining from the planter.
