About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Danish silver candlesticks made by Georg Jensen; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. These exceptional antique Danish silver candle holders have a baluster, circular rounded form. These antique candlesticks have campania shaped capitals embellished with impressive chased decorated alternating scrolling leaf motifs. The knopped, bulbous silver columns are further segmented and incorporate scrolling leaf designs. Each base has a sunken bell-shaped form, and incorporates a continuation of the incurved segments, in addition to chased leaf decoration. These impressive antique silver candlesticks do not have weighted bases. The hallmarks struck to the underside of these Georg Jensen candle holders include: Maker's mark: Georg Jensen, GI (these marks were used between 1915-1930) Country mark: Copenhagen Silver quality/purity mark: 830, S (.830, 830/1000) Such original early examples of Georg Jensen silverware are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. These exceptional candlesticks are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire. Condition These antique Georg Jensen candle holders are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The candlesticks have been professionally polished and are in presentation condition. The chased decoration is sharp. The hallmarks struck to the underside of each candlestick are all clear. A magnificent, fine and impressive, rare pair of antique Danish sterling silver two light Pomegranate pattern candelabra made by Georg Jensen; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection These magnificent and rare antique Danish cast sterling silver candelabra have a circular bulbous form, in the Pomegranate pattern. The surface of each exceptional example of antique silverware has a subtly planished finish. Each impressive two light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked scrolling arms, supporting two rounded organic-shaped baluster capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. The scrolling arms of each candelabra incorporate magnificent scrolling leaf and bead decoration, all in the Arts and Crafts style. The plain bulbous columns surmount a plain circular foot, accented with a petal decorated border to the junction. The bases of these magnificent cast candelabra are not weighted. The hallmarks struck to the underside and one of arm of each include: Maker's mark: Georg Jensen (these marks were used between 1925-1932) Designer's mark: GI (Georg Jensen) Silver quality/purity mark: Sterling, 925, S (925/1000) Country mark: Denmark Importer's mark: GS (Stockwell & Co (George Stockwell)) Import hallmark: London Import date mark: q (1931) Such examples struck with full London import hallmarks are rare to the market. A magnificent, fine and impressive pair of antique George III English cast sterling silver candlesticks made by Edmund Vincent; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection These magnificent antique George III cast sterling silver candlesticks have a baluster shaped form with a waisted knopped stem onto a shaped base. The waisted capitals of these exceptional antique silver candlesticks are embellished with gadroon decorated borders. The capitals are fitted with the original hallmarked detachable sconces ornamented with six-shell ornamentation, in addition to further gadroon decoration to the curvilinear-shaped rim. The upper portion of the waisted shaped column features a shaped knop embellished with six shell designs, reflecting the decoration to the sconce. The waisted column is further ornamented with fluted decoration, in a swirl design, with a gadroon decorated knop to the lower portion The shaped bases of these Georgian silver candle holders are embellished with a swept fluted upper portion to six large shell designs, alternating with convex oval bead motifs.
