About the Artist
Emili Biarnes - b. 1956 - is a spanish ceramicist.
His work is strongly influenced by his training in industrial design, which he completed from 1972 to 1976 at the Llotja School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona.
Through his his participation in 1982 in the monographic ceramic courses at la Bisbal d'Emporda in Girona, he discovered ceramics and founded his own studio in 1987.
His highly personal work reveals a perfect mastery of forms, as well as the development of a very impressive metallic chromatic range.
Yet poetry is very present behind this perfection where Biarnes gives us a view, through unique pieces or very small series like those we present here, strange objects on the form of futuristic talismans.
