19th Century French Portrait Bust

About the Item

This portrait bust in relief of a French nobleman is mounted in the original gilt frame, though the subject’s identity and the artist remain a mystery. Beautifully sculpted, the bust remains in good condition, however the giltwood frame has suffered some loss. Provenance: a family caslte in Nemours, France.
