Decorate a woman's vanity or powder room with this vintage elegant ceramic Bohemian sculpture dish, crafted in the Czech Republic circa 1930. The Art Deco sculpture features a woman statue in a green gilt dress, resting on the edge of a shell form basin, filling up her amphora water jug. The carved dish composition is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a rich patinated finish with gilt accents. Royal Dux is the more common name for the Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur, which was founded by E. Eichler in DUX, Bohemia (now Duchov, Czech Republic), in 1860. By the turn of the century, the firm specialized in porcelain statuary and busts of Art Nouveau-style maidens, large porcelain figures, and ornate vases with three-dimensional figures climbing on the sides. Before 1938, the company had over 12,000 molds for porcelain. The firm is still in business. It is now part of Czesky Porcelan (Czech porcelain).

Royal Dux Bohemia
Royal Dux is a porcelain company based in the Czech Republic that manufactures figurines, vases and other ceramics and objects in neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles. Some of the company’s most popular pieces include the Bohemia centerpiece as well as their Elephant figurine.
A member of the Czech Porcelain Group, Roya Dux has produced its brand of figural and decorative porcelain works since 1853. Model expert Eduard Eichler established the company in Duchov, Bohemia, in 1860 and ran Royal Dux Bohemia until his death in 1887, recreating historical designs from England, Denmark and France. At the start of the 20th century, the company enjoyed remarkable success thanks to the works of the designer Alois Hampel.
Royal Dux porcelain pieces are designated by their trademark pink triangle, which serves as a certificate of authentication. The company enjoyed a renaissance in 1958 owing to the display of Jaroslav Ježek’s collection at the world exhibition in Brussels that year.
In 1992, the Duchov factory rebranded itself as Royal Dux.
