From 1940 to 1943 Erb attended the Kunstgewerbeschule in Kaiserslautern, where the St. Ingbert artist Albert Weißgerber had previously completed his initial training around the turn of the century. In the years 1946/1947 he attended the school for arts and crafts in Saarbrücken. There he studied with Boris Kleint, who represented the Bauhaus theory (color type theory) of the Bauhaus teacher Johannes Itten. Already in his early years (1948/1949) Erb set up his own studio in his hometown.
During this time he created his first linear paper cuts, sculptures and "line drawings". In 1957, together with his teacher Boris Kleint and other young Saarland artists, he founded the "Neue Gruppe Saar", which counted itself among the avant-garde of the time. From about 1958 he began his structured "Line Pictures" and "Line Reliefs", which he u. a. 1958 in Düsseldorf as part of the 7th evening exhibition “Das rote Bild” by the ZERO group in Düsseldorf.
In 1961 Erb moved to Paris, where he lived until 1975 and worked in the studio he built himself. During this period he continued to develop his line work and created "linear light objects", "solar sculptures...

Louis Jobst' Monument Lamp - Square is high quality, bespoke and handmade using solid raw materials. The base is finished with a black patina and cut from 90mm thick steel billet. Markings from the process are visible and intentionally left, exposing the character of the material. A square block of Travertine slots into the steel base. The opal glass diffuser is hand blown with a matte finish.
The concept was to design a lamp triptych (circle, triangle and square) made out of high quality materials for a formal interior space. A triptych of varying forms, colors and textures could create a 'common ground' throughout a space, whilst also working as individual lamps. Andrea Salvatori (Italy, 1975) is an internationally renowned visual artist working with the ceramic medium to realise often ironic and witty sculptures, sometimes involving a diverse selection of found objects, such as Murano glass vases, Meissen Porcelain miniatures or Ginori period ceramics sourced in flea markets around Europe. Salvatori’s works often begin with these items and proceed by the addition of elements masterfully created by the artist, generating an unexpected semantic shift. The result is unique, encompassing pop culture and kitsch aesthetics: a witty and effective way to turn reality upside-down and at the same time a powerful combination of exquisite craftsmanship and genuine irony.
Andrea Salvatori was born on 3 of March 1975 in Faenza (Ra) - Italy; he has graduated at the Istituto d’arte for Ceramic in Faenza in 1995, and he then graduated with a Degree in Sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna in 2000. During his studies, Andrea learned the secrets of ceramics from the creative duo Bertozzi & Casoni having worked as an apprentice in their studio for many years at the same way as during Renaissance artists learned their practice with their Masters. Since 1997 he had several individual and collective exhibitions. In 2009 he won the first prize at the 56th edition of the prestigious Premio Faenza, the International Contest Of Contemporary Art Ceramics, for which he classified second in the prior edition.
