About the Item

Hand made in Spain, unusual double side ceramic vessel from the Catalan ceramist Isabel Barba-Formosa (1947-2021). Glazed in dark blue, designed with the top vase and ring, painted with different width bands and the bottom with Sgraffito vertical lines, creating a soft textured touch, The inside of the two openings glazed in an off-white glaze with the bottom rim unglazed. Signed - BARBAFORMOSA - on the lower edge. Condition: Very Good, a few glaze pops along the ring. Please see all images. Measurements: 10 1/2 onches high x 5 1/2 inches diameter ring x 3 1/2 inches diameter at openings. Isabel Barba-Formosa (1947-2021) graduated from the University of Barcelona with a degree in Fine Arts specializing in sculpture. With apprenticeship with ceramist Jordi Aguadé and training at the Sedó d'Esparreguera workshop learning the craft. Barba-Formosa taught pottery for 30 years at the Escola Massana in Barcelona.
