About the Item

Very Rare Furniture Vase, Flower or Umbrella Holder by Bitossi, Made in Italy, 1960s Floor vase or VERY LARGE column umbrella stand by Aldo Londi for Bitossi Ceramiche of Montelupo, Italy. THE THICKNESS OF THE POT IS 3 cm AND THE WEIGHT IS KG 18. The vase is perfect, with no shortcomings. It is an extraordinary work by Aldo Londi. The attribution mark is present: "Montelupo Fiorentino September 1967."  Designer Description: Aldo Londi was born in Montelupo, in the province of Florence in 1911. He became one of the leading Pottery Designers of that period. He began working in ceramics at a very young age. At the age of 11, he found his first job in a local company that produced ceramics. Unfortunately, he was put in prison between 1935 and 1943 in Johannesburg, South Africa.  As a prisoner of war he continued his study and research in art. After World War II he undertook the job of Art Director of the renowned Studio Bitossi in Montelupo, Florence. Londi's Art blossomed at Bitossi, and the designer designed numerous ceramic objects and sculptures.
