A fine antique Georgian English sterling silver ‘madeira’ decanter label / bottle ticket made in Newcastle; an addition to our wine and drinks silverware collection. This fine antique George III sterling silver decanter label/bottle ticket has a subtly convex, plain rectangular rounded cornered form. The body is embellished with a simple tooled decorated border and the engraved name ‘MADEIRA' to the center. The label is suspended by two ring loops to the upper border connected by a silver belcher style chain. This Fine example of Georgian silverware has been crafted by the Newcastle maker John Robertson II but assayed in London; this was an occasional practice with smaller items of Newcastle silver, where no town mark was been struck. These exceptional antique George III Newcastle sterling silver mugs have has a panelled octagonal form. The surface of each Georgian silver mug is embellished panels of bright cut engraved stylised floral sprays, incorporating a vacant shaped cartouche to the anterior segment. The plain panelled foot and upper rim of the body are encompassed with bands of applied moulded decoration. The mug is fitted with an impressive scroll handle, enveloped with an impressive leaf design incorporating a scrolling thumbpiece. The interior of each mug retains the original gilding. An exceptional, fine and impressive, pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver bottle labels / tickets made by Hester Bateman; part of our wine related silverware collection. These exceptional and collectable George III sterling silver wine labels have a curvilinear ovoid-shaped form. These antique silver labels / tickets are ornamented with a bright cut engraved and pin struck scrolling designs accented with gadroon decorated scrolling leaf motifs paralleling the borders. The body of each label is engraved with the individual wine or spirit: 'Port' and 'Hock'. The upper portion of each label features a circular cartouche ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a demi-lion, holding between the paws a roundel. These Georgian silver bottle labels are suspended by two ring loops and connected by silver round link chains.
