Meissen Lovely Pair of Child Figurines: Girl Dressed as Elegant Rococo Lady, seizing a shell in right hand & Boy Reading a Book MANUFACTORY: MEISSEN DATING: 19th century / made circa 1850 - 60 MATERIAL: WHITE PORCELAIN, GLOSSY FINISH, FINEST PAINTING DESIGNER: MICHAEL VICTOR ACIER (1736 - 1799) DESIGN MADE CIRCA 1775 - 76 TECHNIQUE: HANDMADE PORCELAIN SPECIFICATIONS: 1) We're presenting here a GIRL FIGURINE HAVING SAT DOWN ON A CHAIR / the girl is wearing finest elegant Rococo garments: a long laced dress with a short laced apron, a mobcap is covering her head / the girl holds a shell in right raised hand. - The figurine is supported by round base which edge is of reticulated type. 2) The GALLANT YOUNG MAN having sat down on an upholstered Rococo stool reads a book: The lovely young boyish man - his head is covered with a wig - is dressed in most elegant Rococo garments: He is wearing a jacket, a vest, a ruffled shirt, knee breeches, stockings and buckled shoes. Additionally, a sword is attached to man's left hip and further he is squeezing a tripartite hat. Beyond that, there has been put a wattled vat under the stool ... flowers are pouring out of vat = it is SYMBOL OF LOVE ! - The figurine is supported by round base which edge is of reticulated type.
