This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver cream jug has a plain pear shaped form. The body of this silver cream jug is embellished with flat chased simplified leaf designs incorporating scrolling borders and scale motif panels, in the Rococo style. The decoration to the body incorporates an applied moulded border to the upper shaped rim and an impressive scrolling leaf design to the underside of the spout. The formation of this Edwardian piece reflects an early Georgian design and style often associated with the renowned silversmith Paul de Lamerie. The surface of the caster is plain and unembellished. The rim of this impressive sugar caster is encompassed with an applied moulded border. This sterling silver sugar caster retains the original, fine and impressive hallmarked push fit cover, embellished with impressive pierced scrolling decoration in addition to an applied moulded border to the rim.
