About the Item

The monumental hand carved totem pole depicting a winged bird atop a figure and surmounted on a fox or bear holding a fish prey. Hand painted predominately in blue and white tones, the monumental totem is constructed with bolted wings which are in two parts and detach for shipping. More than likely red cedar and by the Indigenous people of the Northwest Coast of North America. Signed as shown RLS and possibly dated or numbered. Dimensions: 108" or 9' H, 14" W x 15" D; wing are 100" W Condition: Please see detail photos. Many signs of age and exposure including a small repair to tongue of the figure, stable cracks, some fading, chips, nicks and wear and retaining a powerful and striking presentation.
