Artemide Gople Classic Max 22W E26 Ceiling Light in Blue Sapphire
Located in Hicksville, NY
Gople Lamp is the latest product in the ongoing collaboration between Artemide and Bjarke Ingels Group. Gople is crafted of a pill shape, the glass is blown according to ancient Venetian techniques in Murano. The shape of the glass helps the light to diffuse a soft glow throughout, creating a comfortable ambience. The Gople family is enriched with new versions available in a smaller size. Gople is now available as a table and floor lamp, in addition to the suspension. The new additions feature the same pill shaped diffuser crafted of handblown glass. Gople Mini is available in a suspension, table, and ceiling version. The basic form of the Gople Lamp enhances the beauty of glass, hand-processed according to an ancient Venetian technique that gradually turns white glass into crystal glass by combining both upon blowing, thus making each piece unique. More innovative finishes are added, including silver or copper vacuum metallization. The silver, bronze, copper, and blue finishes are made with an innovative and sustainable metal vacuum deposition process. From the point of view of environmental-friendliness, “sputtering” is the absolutely cleanest coating technology for the type of metal used and because all emissions are abated, in particular those into the atmosphere of sulfuric acid and cyanides produced by galvanic processes. Solid paint with up to 5% of solvents (compared to 75% of traditional products) is employed for the secondary protective clear coat phase. The process generates very little waste and the resulting finish is particularly resistant over time. In any of these cases, glass finishing is designed to ensure the best relationship with the emitted light, screening the source and maximizing direct emission through transparency. The most basic version with the traditional E26 or E12 joint is designed to provide different performance levels compared to the more innovative RWB version, where colors can be combined with each other to create the desired lighting scenario. Additional Information: Materials: Chrome metal canopy and diffuser in handblown glass Color: Transparent (Diffuser), Chrome (Canopy), Blue (Gradient...

Artemide Pausania LED Table Lamp in Black and Green by Ettore Sottsass
Located in Hicksville, NY
Artemide Pausania LED table lamp in black and green by Ettore Sottsass. The godfather of contemporary Italian design, Ettore Sottsass believed products should be as sensual as functional. Trained as an architect, Sottsass was a founding member of Memphis Design, a reaction against monotone formalism towards color and geometrical experimentation. Highly regarded through his iconic designs for the workplace with Olivetti, Sottsass had equal impact on private space with his “Superbox” closet, glass and ceramics. Originally designed in the 1980s era by Ettore Sottsass, Pausania has become a masterpiece of the design of the 20th century. It has become part of the permanent design collections of world renowned museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Steming from the visionary identity of Artemide, it reminds of a modern interpretation of the Classic banker’s lamp. Pausania’s technology has been reimagined to adapt to today’s standards of intelligent, eco-friendly, and energy efficient LED lighting. It is now featuring the latest Tunable White technology, allowing the user to select the right level of intensity as well as the right color of light he needs for each moment of life. Available for purchase within the United States only...

Vintage and Antique Lighting for Sale: Unique Table Lamps, Floor Lamps, Sconces and Other Lighting for Your Home

The right table lamp, outwardly sculptural chandelier or understated wall pendant can work wonders for your home. While we’re indebted to thinkers like Thomas Edison for critically important advancements in lighting and electricity, we’re still finding new ways to customize illumination to fit our personal spaces all these years later. A wide range of antique and vintage lighting can be found on 1stDibs.

Today, lighting designers like the self-taught Bec Brittain have used the flexible structure of LEDs to craft glamorous solutions by working with what is typically considered a harsh lighting source. By integrating glass and mirrors, reflection can be used to soften the glow from LEDs and warmly welcome light into any space.

Although contemporary innovators continue to impress, some of the classics can’t be beat.

Just as gazing at the stars allows you to glimpse the universe’s past, vintage chandeliers like those designed by Gino Sarfatti and J. & L. Lobmeyr, for example, put on a similarly stunning show, each with a rich story to tell.

As dazzling as it is, the Arco lamp, on the other hand, prioritizes functionality — it’s wholly mobile, no drilling required. Designed in 1962 by architect-product designers Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, the piece takes the traditional form of a streetlamp and creates an elegant, arching floor fixture for at-home use.

There is no shortage of modernist lighting similarly prized by collectors and casual enthusiasts alike — there are Art Deco table lamps created in a universally appreciated style, the Tripod floor lamp by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings, Greta Magnusson Grossman's sleek and minimalist Grasshopper lamps and, of course, the wealth of mid-century experimental lighting that emerged from Italian artisans at Arredoluce, FLOS and many more are hallmarks in illumination innovation

With decades of design evolution behind it, home lighting is no longer just practical. Crystalline shaping by designers like Gabriel Scott turns every lighting apparatus into a luxury accessory. A new installation doesn’t merely showcase a space; carefully chosen ceiling lights, table lamps and floor lamps can create a mood, spotlight a favorite piece or highlight your unique personality.

The sparkle that your space has been missing is waiting for you amid the growing collection of antique, vintage and contemporary lighting for sale on 1stDibs.
