This set consists of 124 simple ceiling or wall lights created by Rolf Krüger and made by Staff in Germany during the 1960s. It is rare to find such a large quantity of these lights. The lights feature a simple cylindrical shape that transforms into a square base with a soft radius. The top of the upper end holds the contaminant visibly, making it perfect for mirror headlights to avoid direct glare. The assembly plate is integrated into the base plate. These lamps' unique feature is their ability to combine ceiling or wall sculptures. These lights are minimalistic, making them a statement piece in any room. They are in excellent condition without any damage, 100% original, fully functional, and come with an E27 socket. These lights are compatible with US/UK/ASIA standards and LED compatible. They have been cleaned, well-wired, in complete working order, and ready to use. Mid-century lighting is a sustainable option as it allows you to repurpose and give new life to existing products. Mid-century design lighting is often of high quality, built to last for several years. They also come with a rich history, and their signs of wear give a glimpse into the previous owner's life.

Krüger designed a variety of metal, glass, and concrete products for the manufacturer, Staff Leuchten. Among his creations were bubble glass pendants (which he made in collaboration with Japanese lighting designer Motoko Ishii), tube decorative wall lamps, and the iconic Cross Oyster flush mount ceiling light, which was displayed in the exhibition stand of Mercedes-Benz at the 1970 Geneva International Motor Show. While electric light bulbs were a huge improvement over gas and oil lamps for lighting our homes, we still had much work to do in order to arrive at the broad range of table lamps, pendants, sconces and other fixtures that are available today.
Lighting technology and design improved substantially over time. Engaging engineers, scientists, architects and designers alike, the field of lighting became a major proving ground for state-of-the-art materials like plastics, inventive new mechanisms and emotionally resonant styles that included the ethereal (Isamu Noguchi’s Akari light sculpture), the whimsical (Gino Sarfatti’s 2109 ceiling light and Sputnik chandelier) and the eclectically postmodern (the Toio floor lamp crafted by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni). Eventually, flush mount light fixtures became a practical option for home lighting.
Flush mount lighting fixtures are among the most convenient ways to light a small room with a low ceiling. These structures sit directly against the ceiling’s surface and cast light downward, illuminating a large area and defining the room. Semi-flush mount lighting fixtures hang several inches from the ceiling. They also produce ambient light but can be a little more decorative and lean toward the style of chandeliers.
