About the Item

Each of the fifteen-light brass Sputnik flushmounts with copious amounts of Austrian crystals by Emil Stejnar for Nikoll. Cosmological. Measures: Ø 23.6". This glamorous delicate brass ‘Snowball’ Sputnik flushmount is also known as ‘pusteblume’ or ‘snowflake’ and is made in Vienna, circa midcentury. This magnificent Sputnik chandelier is in excellent condition and complete working. The lamp is covered with Austrian crystal balls and flowers which scatter the light in a unique and very charming way by the 15 small Edition (E14) light sockets. Emil Stejnar (1939) is an Austrian born gold and silver smith, a hermetic magician as well as a famous author and astrologer in many German speaking countries. He is known as the spiritual successor to Franz Bardon and has worked with, corrected and expended Bardon’s works for more than 50 years. Heavy quality and in perfect condition. Cleaned, well-wired and ready to use. The chandeliers can be disassembled and the crystals individually wrapped for easy transport.   Sold as a pair or individually.

An outstanding set of two sputnik chandeliers designed by Paolo Venini, manufactured by VeArt in Italy, circa 1960. These eye-catching lamps have a high quality chrome metal base with many arms holding flower shapes made from high quality Murano glass. The lamps are crafted with an excellent eye for detail. When lit, the lamps emit a wonderful warm light that is nicely diffused by the glass. This rare set would make a beautiful eyecatcher in any Mid-Century Modern interior. In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Paolo Venini (1895–1959) emerged as one of the leading figures in the production of Murano glass and an important contributor to twentieth-century design. Venini was born in the town of Cusano near Milan, Italy. After serving in the Italian army in World War I, he trained as a lawyer and began his practice in Milan.
