Rare ‘2045’ ceiling light by Studio B.B.P.R. for Arteluce, 1962

About the Item

Rare '2045' ceiling light, designed by Studio B.B.P.R. for Arteluce, Italy, 1962. This highly collectible piece remains in its original condition, beautifully preserved, with wear and patina consistent with age and use. This rationalist design was created by B.B.P.R. based on an existing design by Gino Sarfatti. The light features 5 units of model 3055/12 and 1 unit of model 3055/25. Arteluce label inside the center light. The B.B.P.R. studio was formed in Milan in 1932 in a climate described by Giorgio Ciucci as 'oscillating between differing and contrasting positions'. The name of the firm was an acronym derived from the first letter of each of the partners' family name: Gianluigi Banfi (1910–1945), Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso (1909–2004), Enrico Peressutti (1908–1976), and Ernesto Nathan Rogers (1909–1969). Rare floor lamp with hammered brass leaves by Angelo Lelii for Arredoluce
By Arredoluce, Angelo Lelii
Located in Sittard, LI
We proudly present this monumental palm floor lamp designed by Angelo Lelii and produced by Arredoluce, Monza Italy ca. 1950. This extremely rare floor lamp features 6 leaves in hammered brass with original green lacquer on the insides, the brass surround the perforated metal lamp shade in the centre of the lamp. The heavy cast-iron base gives stability to this floor lamp. The lamp still remains in a all original condition with a beautiful patina, ready to use. Signed by the maker underneath the base. Angelo Lelii (1915–1979). Born Paolo Angelo Lelii in Ancona, Angelo Lelii moved with his family to Milan, where he worked and married Monza-born Rosa Bianca Bussetti. The couple moved to Monza after marriage, and although the biographical information available is scarce, we know that he began manufacturing lamps in his Monza house in 1943 and that in 1946 he advertised his Tris lamp...
