About the Item

In 1968 Gae Aulenti created for Candle Italy the "Rimorchiatore" lamp in lacquered metal and plastic acetate, characterized by a structure with multiple cylinders of different heights which fulfill the function of vase, lamp and ashtray. After her formative years between Florence and Turin, she decided to move to Milan; here she graduated in 1953 from the Milan Polytechnic; since 1956 she has worked professionally, dedicating herself to architectural design, interior and industrial design, and theatrical scenography.
