Pair of Josef Frank Brass Table Lamps, Model 2467/2, Svenskt Tenn, Sweden, 1950s

About the Item

This rare pair of table lamps was designed by Josef Frank and produced by Svenskt Tenn in Sweden in the 1950s. The lamps are marked with the model number 2467/2 on the bottom of the base. This model is no longer in production and was also featured in the 1950s Svenskt Tenn catalogue . The design is marked by the organic base in a propeller shape. The base is resting and slightly raised on three legs. The base and tubular central stem are all in polished brass. The empire shades have been renewed in an ivory, linen textured fabric which offers a nice contrast with the gold brass. Later light fittings using a regular E26/E27 bulbs and power cord with switch buttons. The lamps are in very good condition, with polished brass and renewed shade. Later replaced and fully functioning wiring.

    This elegant rosewood cabinet was designed by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn in the late 1930's. In the Svensk Tenn archive's furniture book, Estrid Ericson (the founder of Svenskt Tenn) has made a pencil sketch of the cabinet and written "designed for the King", Gustaf V, likely for his 80th birthday in 1938.
