About the Item
Doggy Lamp by Wan Wan Wonderland (Tokyo, Japan)
Delightful and whimsical table lamps with white pleated shades and expertly hand-crafted wooden bases. Each lamp is handcrafted by WAN(of WAN WAN WONDERLAND), an artist and dog lover, at her woodworking atelier in Tokyo, Japan. The stylized wooden bases are assembled with a combination of different hardwoods such as cherry, ash, and oak. The head of the dog on each lamp is designed to pivot for extra cuteness.
The lamp is assembled with brass hardware and wired with a black cord with an in-line switch. White pleated lampshade included. Please contact about customization.
These adorable lamps are sure to make a warm and playful addition to any living room, study/library or bedroom. They would also work great in kids' rooms as well.

About WAN WAN WONDERLAND (wooden works by WAN)
WAN(b.1987) was born in Tokyo and has a background in media and woodworking. She runs an atelier & gallery YAHHO-HOUSE in Yaho, Kunitachi with Satsuki Kotani. She holds a group exhibition, "Doggy & Chum," every year at YAHHO-HOUSE

Q: What are some things that have most influenced your work?
WAN: My father is an architect, so I wanted to become a person who makes things since I was a child.
I also do furniture repair, and old furniture designs I've repaired are a big source of inspiration. I recently realized that incorporating a dog into my design brings out the best in me, because I love dogs. The dogs I pass by on the street and my pet dog TEN, are very important to my work.

Luft Tanaka Studio
Luft Tanaka is a Japanese artist and designer based in New York City. Utilizing his intuitive understanding of materials and processes, Luft creates distinct and covetable art objects, furniture and lighting. His most expansive body of work, the Kawa Series, is the product of a method unique to his practice: the casting of porcelain into leather molds, perfected over years of experimentation and refinement. Originally from Kasugai, Japan, Luft moved to New York City in 2008 and earned a degree in Product Design from Parsons School of Design. Since then, his work has been exhibited and sold at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the Museum of Arts and Design, the Noguchi Museum, Tokyo Design Week, NYCxDESIGN, and Milan Design Week—and featured in publications like the New York Times, Wallpaper Magazine, Dwell Magazine, Metropolis, and Sight Unseen.
