About the Item

Beautiful Fortuny four panel double-sided folding screen. On the front side is the Papiro pattern with undulating colors and a beautiful gold bronze overlay. The back side is finished in a rich dark tobacco colored linen. The screen and the Fabrics both manufactured by the Fortuny company. Simple in design, PAPIRO is an early 20th-century teardrop scallop motif derived from the early drawings of Mariano Fortuny. PAPIRO suggests a reedy marsh and the fan-shaped blossoms of the papyrus. This item is currently on display at the Berkshire galleries of great Berrington Massachusetts.
