About the Item

The Kilim is a rug without fur, woven like a tapestry, with only warp and weft. It is a typical product of nomadic populations, which use these artifacts for their daily use, as a couch, to delineate the spaces inside the tent and as a cover to protect themselves from the cold. The Kilim accompanies the nomad throughout his life: on the Kilim, you are born, eat, get married, have children grow, are the altar for religious ceremonies and always on the Kilim the nomad leaves earthly life. The decorations are always very essential, our piece has the Classic decoration with horizontal stripes in alternating colors with refined taste, characteristic of the Kurdish populations, which among the nomadic populations are considered those of greater culture. Unusual, in the center, a small knotted medallion with fleece, a magical element to indicate a special place.
