About the Item

Gae Aulenti, pseudonym of Gaetana Emilia Aulenti (Palazzolo dello Stella, 4 December 1927 – Milan, 31 October 2012), was an Italian designer and architect, particularly dedicated to the theme of architectural exhibition and restoration. You have operated in numerous markets. Considered among the best architects of her generation, she left an indelible mark on the history of international design. During your long activity you have won numerous awards, including the prestigious Imperial Prize for architecture awarded by the Japan Art Association of Tokyo. Poltronova is a company that has made history. Founded by Sergio Cammilli in 1957 in Tuscany, Poltronova was the first to include in its catalog both mentors such as Gae Aulenti, Giovanni Michelucci, Angelo Mangiarotti. In the early years of the company's history, a fundamental contribution was made by Ettore Sottsass, who became its art director in 1958, with Poltronova creating dozens of his projects, from furniture to ceramics. Poltronova has participated in important exhibitions and events in the history of Italian design.
