Since its release, the Spindle chair’s distinctive Silhouette has appeared in a vast array of celebrated commercial and residential interiors. The phenomenally successful piece was inspired by a visit to Louis Kahn’s Exeter Library. Designer Craig Bassam’s imagination was ignited when he noticed the traditional utilitarian chair juxtaposed against the powerful geometry of Kahn’s building. The BassamFellows Spindle chair offers a new take on the Classic piece, a descendent of the Classic English Windsor chair. Aren’t these chairs magnificent???!!! We certainly think so! These are fabulous gray-blue and chrome cantilever chairs made by United Chair Company and they’re in the style of Steelcase. They are comprised of a gorgeous chrome cantilever frame with black plastic armrests, and they wear their original awesome gray-blue and orange fleck tweed fabric with button detail on their backs and seat cushions. The fabric is cool because in different lights, it looks a little different. It’s kind of gray, kind of blue, and has little orange specs throughout… It takes on the color of what you set it with. Super stylish and super comfortable!! We say these chairs are mostly modern, but they would definitely blend in beautifully with Art Deco, mid-century modern, or Bauhaus styles. And did we mention that we have 89 of them available? So, your options are limitless! They would be fabulous seating for your dining table or around the office conference table...

They are realized according to the historical model named "Klismos" which is a type of ancient Greek chair, very often depicted on ancient furniture or on painted pottery and in bas-reliefs from the mid-5th century BCE onwards. The simple and elegant lines of the saber legs have been proposed and reconsidered several times during the home decoration history, making it a chair without age and never out of fashion.
The long and elegant curve for the backrest is quite difficult to be created and it is obtained from a single piece of wood. They are extremely comfortable and wraparound, the seat is large and deep allowing them to be suitable in a meeting room, as well in the dining room or used as desk chairs.
