About the Item

The "Rungstedlund" chair by Ole Wanscher is a study in minimalist design and craftsmanship, combining a delicate form with sturdy construction. Inspired by the 19th-century klismos silhouette, the design focuses on clean lines and negative space. The single sculpted backrest is supported by two sloped back rails, while the saber legs curve dramatically. This rare set includes eight side chairs, all made of solid mahogany with French horsehair fabric seats. Minor stains and scuffs, consistent with age.
