About the Item

Rare Settee and Pair of Low Lounge Chairs by Pierre Jeanneret with inverted compass type teak legs upholstered in Italian sheared cow hide The Sette and Lounge chairs have been expertly conserved by MS, New York. Seat interior has been refurbished, all of the springs have been re-tied by hand. High quality cushion with wool batting. The legs have been cleaned and waxed to maintain the original patina. Pierre Jeanneret was a Swiss architect and furniture designer who collaborated with his cousin, Le Corbusier, on the design and planning of Chandigarh, the capital city of the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana. Jeanneret played a significant role in designing furniture for various government buildings and housing projects in Chandigarh during the 1950s and 1960s.
