About the Item

This is a Pair of Caned 811 Dining Chairs, initially designed by Josef Frank for Michael Thonet in 1920. This pair of chairs dates to the 1950s. The chairs have a pressed Vienna Braid caned back, and they have white vinyl upholstered seats. The frames are made of bent beech. While unmarked, they were most likely produced in Poland. Each chair measures 22.5 inches deep, 20.5 inches wide, and 32 inches high. They have a seat height of 17.75 inches. There are several marks along the frames and on the feet, and one seat appears that it had a spot "melt" on it. There are also some small pen marks on one seat. Overall, these chairs are in good vintage condition. Please see photos.
