About the Item

"Fiftyish" sofa designed by Vladimir Kagan and produced by American leather in the 2000s. This contemporary design was influenced by Kagan's winged barrel chairs of the 1950s. This example has been highly elevated with new luxurious upholstery and feather down cushions. The upgraded, designer fabric is a divine nubby cotton similar to the Haitian cotton of the 1970s. It adds tons of texture to the space and is extremely soft and resilient. The plump feather down cushions add even more comfort to this piece, allowing you to really sink in. Those elements, mixed with the high back and deep seating, allow for a superbly comfortable lounging experience which will not disappoint. Other features include full, rounded arms, exaggerated seat back wings, and stainless steel legs. This sculptural design truly pays homage to Kagan's early pieces while providing functionality and comfort more in line with modern life.
