ANTIQUE GUSTAV STICKLEY Two-Door Bookcase Model 717 - W7984

About the Item

This is an antique Gustav Stickley Narrow 2-Door Bookcase model 717, circa 1914. The bookcase has EXCELLENT original finish, very crisp with NO DROP of overcoat, original hand hammered iron hardware pulls with original patina, with REAL Thru-Tenon construction (double on each side AS PICTURED). There is a original Gustav Stickley paper label on the back. The piece features 8 panes of glass in each door rather than just one piece of glass in a more cheaply made bookcase. There are six (6) shelves in the bookcase. Dimensions Height - 56 inch Width - 48 inch Depth - 13 inch PLEASE NOTE: We deal with PERIOD STICKLEY furniture for more than 50 yrs and tell you the correct info you need to know, This bookcase we offering here is made by GUSTAV STICKLEY in 1914 and with original HAND hammered pull IRON HARDWARE and with original Gustav paper paper label on the back of the cabinet as pictured IN PERFECT SHAPE, all edges are sharp ,came to use from a Dr home near PITTS PA, PLEASE NOTE: This model of GUSTAV STICKLEY was copied by another furniture maker called " LIFETIME furniture co " a secondary maker in Grand Rapids MI, they marked it as model # 7614, They build to the EXACT sizes as GUS Stickley with NO nice PANS of glass on the two doors, just one pc pf glass (big deference in quality) and with poor quality pull hardware, sure not hammered IRON as Gus Stickley had made. The original finish is excellent with very rich color. No repairs or replaced parts. All cabinet we offer are pro fresh glued by the best artist in the US, in order to re glue a cabinet, you need to take out completely ALL the old glue before you apply fresh glue. And if not, in a year or less you need to re glue again...... This is a true period piece - NOT a reproduction. STURDY AND STRONG and ready for your home or office. This is a SUPERB Antique Gustav Stickley One-Door China Cabinet with excellent original finish. The case has an excellent selection of quarter-sawn oak - .perhaps the best we’ve ever seen! Great original hardware w/ original patina. Gustav Stickley used two larger hinges on the doors to make them easier to open. There are three (3) fixed shelves, along with the bottom of the cabinet. The shelves are also solid, quarter sawn oak. The piece is signed with a red Stickley decal, and an original Gustav Stickley paper label.
