About the Item

Wonderful bachelor's chest by Edward Wormley for his "Precendent" Collection designed for Drexel in 1947. One of the few collections Wormley produced outside of his work with Dunbar. The stately collection comprised over 100 pieces for each room of the home, featuring proprietary curled bar pulls in polished brass. Wormley's Precedent Collection is one of the most sought after and highly collected of all American made mid-century furniture. Combining modern design with traditional furniture Wormley was ahead of his time with this timelessly designed collection. Extremely well made, constructed of solid silver elm and finished in clear lacquer, beautifully patinated. This iconic timeless piece has split top drawers over four full width drawers all with the original, brass pulls painted black. The functional size and scale allow for a multitude of uses. For refinishing or lacquering, inquire for details.
