Gilbert Rhode for Herman Miller EOG No. 17 Receptionist Desk

About the Item

For your consideration is this rare Gilbert Rohde EOG No. 17 Receptionist Desk manufactured by Herman Miller in the 1940s. The desk is in original, unrestored condition. It's composed of walnut veneer with original drawer pulls and original bronze tone steel legs. It has two drawers with file dividers in the bottom drawer. Along the top are three horizontal cubbies, and along the left is a vertical cubby. The half-moon form has a distinctive finished, curved back, which allows it to float in a room or tuck neatly into a corner.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Unrestored. Finish as pictured, with scratches, stains, and veneer edge loss. The wooden structure that the center leg mounts onto has shifted, causing the leg to appear crooked. Scratches and chips to glass. Holes in kneehole. Structurally good.
