Brazilian Modern Bar in Rosewood and White Finish, by Forma, 1960s, Brazil

About the Item

Available today, this Mid-Century Modern Bar in Rosewood, Brass Keys and White finish made in Brazil during the sixties is absolutely magnificent! This gorgeous bar is made in naval plywood plated in Brazilian Rosewood, known as Jacaranda with a white Formica front and brass keys. The module has 2 doors with period wrenches. The internal area consists of glass shelves with height adjustment. The bar can stand in four toothpick legs or fixed to the wall. The piece has the manufacturing seal. The bar is showcased in our gallery next to a beautiful Chaise Lounge in green leather and another bar cart also by Forma and the combo looks stellar. This Brazilian Modern beauty will look spectacular in any Mid-Century Modern, Modern or Contemporary environment and if you are looking for a true collectible piece that reflects Brazilian Modernism in the sixties, look no further! Carlo Hauner (1927-1997) with Martin Eisler (1913-1977) were the primary designers for the iconic Brazilian furniture company Forma. They are most known for well-shaped armchairs made in iron, but the production is far more complex, handcrafted, and extensive. The wood pieces produced by Forma Móveis e Objetos de Arte during 1950 & 1960’s in Brazil are highly designed and well-executed. Their narrative spans four countries (Italy, Austria, Brazil, and Argentina) and several decades and their exceptional works are already highly sought-after examples of the vibrant modern design movement in Latin America.
