Sideboard by Torbjørn Afdal for Bruksbo, Norway. The sleek lines of the "Darby" sideboard by Torbjørn Afdal are enhanced by the elegant rosewood base. On the left, there are five drawers, including two large ones that highlight the rich grain of the rosewood, which is also used for the interiors of the other storage spaces, fitted with shelves. This piece is both understated and rich, thanks to its materials and craftsmanship—very much in the style of Torbjørn Afdal.

Torbjørn Afdal
Torbjørn Afdal was one of the leading designers at Bruksbo Tegnekontor and in Scandinavia. Afdal became more well known when his furniture was bought by US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy and by the Japanese Emperor. In later years, he was granted the commission to design the parliamentary and chairs and tables to the courthouse in Oslo.
