Vladimir Kagan for Kagan-Dreyfuss Nesting Tables w Kasuba Tiles, c 1950, Signed

About the Item

This rare and complete set of signed nesting side tables by Vladimir Kagan, during his early years with Hugo Dreyfuss, features eight hand made ceramic art tiles by Alexandra Kasuba. Designed around 1949, this set of three tables produced in the early 1950s during Kagan's time with Kagan-Dreyfuss. This design and other similar designs with Kasuba tiles are documented in the book "Vladimir Kagan, A Lifetime of Avant-Garde Design" on page 43 and 44. This set of three cubist side / occasional tables are a rare collectors item, suitable for high-end interiors and discriminating collector clients. It is difficult to find a matching set of three signed nesting tables with all tiles in-tact and in good condition. Art investors recognize the value of Kagan's works, especially his earlier years with Hugo Dreyfuss during the 1950's and coupled with the future potential value of Kasuba art tiles positions this signed set of three tables as an incredible opportunity for functional fine art. This Vladimir Kagan for Kagan-Dreyfuss set of three nesting tables with Alexandra Kasuba ceramic art tiles would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. By Kagan-Dreyfuss, Inc., Vladimir Kagan
Located in Los Angeles, CA
This important piece of design history was not only designed by Vladimir Kagan and handcrafted by Kagan-Dreyfuss in circa 1949 New York... this was also owned by Kagan himself and kept throughout his entire adult life (see provenance notes below). Each of the two pieces (lower credenza and upper dry bar / hutch) are signed on the back with Kagan-Dreyfuss New York stamps. The expansive size provides exceptional storage and use options. Kagan-Dreyfuss (Vladimir Kagan's partnership with Hugo Dreyfuss from circa 1950-1960) stamped pieces are amongst the most sought after by collectors and investors of art and design. Furniture with Kagan-Dreyfuss stamps are extremely hard to find and demand exceptional value, and this credenza with hutch is double stamped (one on each piece). Featuring a cerused oak exterior, with tambour doors on the lower credenza, sculpted handles (which slide to reveal a keyhole, no key is present however can be rekeyed) on the upper hutch...
