About the Item
19th Century seascape with lighthouse, circa 1890, an oil on canvas view of a white-washed lighthouse tower on a small offshore rocky ledge, most likely Minot's Ledge off the Massachusetts South Shore (the famous "Lover's Light"), with a schooner passing in the background, unsigned.
The painting remains in great condition. Mounted in its original carved and gilded frame which is missing one piece of gesso.
Measures 11-1/2 in H x 14-1/2 in W overall.

The valentine is in great condition, but does of course have a few shells that have come loose over the past century and a half. The cases remain in great condition as well.
