Extraordinary Study for Art Deco Mural/Screen by DiTullio
About the Item
Clearly influenced by the decorative motifs of Frank Lloyd Wright, Rennie Mackintosh and the Secessionists, this remarkable study for a set of four murals (or four panels of a folding screen) depicts a series of highly stylized nude male figures occupied by planting, building and other pursuits. Note a range of delightful details, including an ostrich-like bird in one panel. The artist, Robert DiTullio, executed the study in pencil, ink, watercolor and gouache, including a lovely silvery paint.
