About the Item

Here is a very rare and desirable vintage Working drawing poster displaying a 1953 prototype representation of the One-Legged or stacking chair by the Danish designer Poul Kjærholm. An image of the poster is printed in the catalogue 'Poul Kjaerholm Furniture Architect, Louisiana Museum Denmark, page 45'. Literature: 'Poul Kjaerholm Furniture Architect, Louisiana Museum Denmark, page 44 - 45'. Poul Kjaerholm's Furniture, Mobilia Press 1950s. One of the profects from Poul Kjaerholm that were modeled but never prototyped was the One-Legged stacking chair of laminated wood and spring steel. The One-Legged chair was the first in a series that Kjaerholm designer for Chris Sorensen, an upholsterer who hoped to become a furniyure manufacturer. Kjaserholm later prototyped two chairs for Sorensen, but neither of them put into serial production.
