About the Item

A wonderful image by British artist or printmaker Frank Martin titled "Maened". The image is of dancer Olga Tshechowa and was later used for the poster of the artist's exhibition at the Lyric Theater, Hammersmith, England in 1985. The print is penciled signed, titled, and numbered (20/30) by the artist. Frank Martin was one of the foremost British graphic artists of the 20th century. He was a master printmaker and commercial illustrator. His work is held in various fine collections worldwide including the Tate, London and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Sheet dimensions: 23" high, 25 1/2" wide Image dimensions: 14 1/2" high, 19" wide.

A wonderfully composed, abstract designed limited edition silkscreen serigraph print by American artist Dean Meeker. This work is titled "Portofino" and is one of his more elusive/rare and hard-to-find images. The print is hand-pencil signed, titled, and numbered (Edition of 50) by the artist. Dean Jackson Meeker (born in Madison, Wisconsin, 1920-2002) was an internationally recognized sculptor, painter, and printmaker. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Wisconsin. In 1958, Meeker was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for 1959 and 1960 to study printmaking in Europe. In Paris, he worked at Hayter's printmaking workshop, Atelier 17, and with printmaker Kaiko Moti while also studying in museums in Spain and Italy.
