Located in Miami, FL
An art deco chinoiserie stick pin with green Jade. Very nice antique piece from the European art deco period, circa 1920. This large hat-dress pin has been crafted with chinoiserie patterns in solid .800/.999 silver and mounted on top with a decorative element carved from natural Nephrite jadeite jade. In Chinese culture, excellent and outstanding people are compared to a dragon, while incapable people with no achievements are compared to other, disesteemed creatures, such as a worm. A number of Chinese proverbs and idioms feature references to a dragon, such as "hoping one's child will become a dragon". Has a total weight of 13.2 Grams and a lenght of 7 Inches (17.78 Cm). The jade carving has a measurements of 35 mm by 40mm by 3 mm (1.38 x 1.57 x 0.11 Inches). Note: The piece of carved jade displayed...
