Porsche 944 and 356 Watercolor by David Lord
By David Lord
Located in Littleton, CO
Extraordinary watercolor on paper of two Porsche automobiles, a 944 and a 356 by famed automotive and aviation artist David Lord. Signed and dated, 1985. Image dimensions: 16.75” x 20.75”. Chromed frame dimensions: 24.25” x 27.25”. About David Lord by Randy Leffingwell: Inspiration for David Lord to draw and paint came from hours spent as a child at a drawing board set next to his talented grandmother’s easel. “She painted flowers and landscapes . . . I drew cars, boats, airplanes and army tanks.” In addition, a beloved, dedicated, high school teacher, who “instilled the love of art history, taught me art skills and techniques, and the ability to ‘know what to keep . . . and what to leave out’ of my art.” A New Englander by birth, David attended high school in Connecticut. Art was his favorite class and he kept his eighth grade dream of going to art school alive with hundreds of hours spent drawing cars and planes. After high school, he began two years of art studies at the University of Hartford in Connecticut and then began training at Art center College of Design in Los Angeles, California. After two semesters there, general Motors granted him a full scholarship. He graduated in 1965 as a Bachelor of professional Arts in Industrial Design. Upon graduation, Lord was hired by UniRoyal in South bend, Indiana, to design consumer products and eventually products for military application in Vietnam. “I also had the honor and privilege of working with Gordon Buehrig on the preliminary design, drawings, and clay for the 8/10 scale Cord, built of vacuum-formable, color impregnated plastic. After three years with a South Bend industrial design firm, Lord started his own company. During this period he spent many late evenings at the easel in his own studio, painting and drawing automobiles. The direction of his artwork, philosophy and goals began to form. “I decided to focus my love of all things automotive with my talent for painting and drawing. I had been to many events over the years; councours, car and air shows, had an extensive automotive reference collection and four major influences and mentors. These were men whose talent I was in awe over the years; Peter Helck, Walter Gotschke...

Abe Double Spiral, Lincoln Penny Heads, One-of-a-kind Piece by Stacey Lee Webber
Located in Colorado Springs, CO
Abe double spiral Artist: Stacey Lee Webber. Abe Double Spiral is an original artwork by found-object artist, Stacey Lee Webber. Webber's work has been curated into the permanent collections of The Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery in Washington DC, the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton Massachusetts, the fine art collection of Wells Fargo Bank, the international Kamm Teapot Foundation and numerous private art collections around the world. Abe Double Spiral is a wall piece within Webber's Imagine Series which is composed entirely out of copper pennies that have been sawn out by hand to expose the silhouette of the iconic Abraham Lincoln. This meticulous coin hand-work is Webber's signature technique within her found-object sculptures. The Imagine Series: Abe Double Spiral transforms over 200 pennies by soldering the hand cut Lincolns to posts and arranging them into a unique geometric design within a striking circular frame which reflects the original circle of the coin. The double spiral pattern composed inside the circular frame of the Abe Double Spiral is a unique design that will not be duplicated within the series, making it a one-of-a-kind piece of art. American artist, Stacey Lee Webber was born in Indianapolis Indiana in 1982. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Ball State University in 2005. Webber went on to graduate school at the University of Wisconsin - Madison where she was awarded a full time artist assistantship all three years of her degree program under her major professor, Lisa Gralnick. After earning a Master of Fine Arts in 2008 she went on to become an artist in residence at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago in 2009. In 2011 Webber moved to Philadelphia to pursue her dream of being a full time artist. After four bustling years of teaching at Tyler School of Art, University of the Arts and Rowan University while working as a production jeweler for a local jewelry company in Philadelphia, she made her dream come to fruition in 2015. Webber is currently working and living on the northeast side of Philadelphia where she has made a career of making and selling artwork and jewelry. Webber has exhibited her work around the world including the Cheongju International Craft Biennale in the Republic of Korea, Gallery Okariya in Tokyo, and Sophie Lachaert Gallery in Belgium. Her work has been curated into the permanent collections of The Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery in Washington DC, the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton Massachusetts, the fine art collection of Wells Fargo Bank, the Kamm Teapot Foundation collection and numerous private art collections around the world. As a contemporary metalsmith, Webber cherishes working with found materials whose history is physically evident. Her work is often described as meticulous, pushing the boundaries of everyday recognizable objects to the point of unidentifiable. Through material, she strives to make artwork that interests a broad range of viewers and challenges their preconceived notions of the objects that surround them. Webber’s sculpture...
