Vintage Surrealist Crystal Sculpture of a Hand Holding the World Globe
Located in Hudson, NY
This heavy and impressive crystal art object made mid-1950s is cast and then carved and engraved. The considerable amount of technical skill required shows a master at his craft. The hand created first then set with the globe second and after cooling the engraved longitude and latitude lines, continents and islands engraved creating the whole. Unsigned but completely worked by hand the piece is simple and dramatic without being overwhelming. It shows a considerable amount of wear on the ground smooth pontil but otherwise is in perfect condition. Trio of Hand Carved Wood Sculpture, Tall Carved Poplar Totems
By Steve Turner
Located in Chicago, IL
These hand-carved poplar sculptures transforms from an open, geometric cage form at the bottom to a serpent head at the top. Steve Turner slowly works the wood, revealing natural elements, rings and knots present in the wood. Each of these three sculptures stands atop a solid steel custom base thus the width dimension can vary depending on how far apart each is spaced. Steve Turner Struggle, 2020 catalpa wood...

Andile Dyalvane, The Dancer, Clay Sculpture
By Andile Dyalvane
Located in Capetown, ZA
Widely considered one of South Africa’s foremost ceramic artists, Andile Dyalvane is guided by a deep spiritual connection to his Xhosa ancestors through his work. This ceramic sculptural piece is part of a body of work produced by Dyalvane during a six week residency at Leach Pottery in Cornwall. Andile’s presence at Leach – founded in 1920 by Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, and widely considered the birthplace of British studio pottery – opened a window onto a fascinating juxtaposition between his African-inspired ceramics and Xhosa culture on the one hand, and British studio pottery and English seaside...

Stanislaw Trzebinski, "Pulchellus Pelagicus (Frilled)", Bronze Sculpture
By Stanislaw Trzebinski
Located in Capetown, ZA
Stanislaw grew up in Nairobi, Kenya in a richly creative household filled with paintings by his late father – accomplished artist Tonio Trzebinski – artworks by close friends such as neighbor Peter Beard, countless books on art and design, and visceral interiors created by his fashion-designer mother Anna Trzebinski. Though they lived in the city, the pull of the ocean was ever-present. His father was an avid surfer and fisherman, and weekends were spent together free-diving, fishing and camping in Kenya's outdoors – inspiring a reverence for nature that has stayed with the artist ever since. In the Absence of Light continues the exploration of Stanislaw’s Extra Terrestrial series from 2018, enigmatic sculptural works that appear ancient and weathered even as they sprout new tendrils of life. Reminiscent of diverse organic forms such as coral, fungi and stalactites, the pieces seem to have grown biologically. Like many of his other works, they are emblazoned with the snaky, winding marks of Turing patterns, which model organic patterning in nature such as stripes and spots. Stanislaw’s new exhibition will launch a series of tables, an imposing installation of standing chandeliers...
