Gunnar Asplund GA7 Pendant Lamp Mouthblown Opaque Glass, Designed in 1930´s
By Erik Gunnar Asplund
Located in Värnamo, SE
GA7 is a classical globe luminaire and consists of a mouthblown, three layered opaque glass. Originally designed to enlighten the corridors of the basement at the Woodland Cemetary. The frosted glass in collaboration with the centered light source creates a uniform, general and diffuse light, but with an opening in the glass to also create a direct lightdistribution. GA7 is manufactured as a fixed luminaire, but can also be hanged from cable. Details in either brass or coated. Erik Gunnar Asplund. Erik Gunnar Asplund (22 September 1885 – 20 October 1940) was a Swedish architect, mostly known as a key representative of Nordic Classicism of the 1920s, and during the last decade of his life as a major proponent of the modernist style which made its breakthrough in Sweden at the Stockholm International Exhibition (1930). Among Asplund's most important works is the Stockholm Public Library, constructed between 1924 and 1928, which stands as the prototypical example of the Nordic Classicism and so-called Swedish Grace movement. It was particularly influential on the proposal submitted for the competition for the design of the Viipuri Library in 1927 by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, who regarded Asplund as his mentor. Another important work is the extension of the Gothenburg Courthouse Extension building which Asplund started on 1913 and finished 1937 - it shows his transformation from neo-classical to functionalist architect, a transformation in parallel with other European modernists like Erich Mendelsohn. Asplund collaborated with architect Sigurd Lewerentz...

Gunnar Asplund GA9 Wall Light Mouthblown Opaque Glass, Designed in 1930´s
By Erik Gunnar Asplund
Located in Värnamo, SE
GA9 appears to be inspired by a droplet, floating upward the wall. The mouthblown glass with bubbles creates an intricate play between light and shadow, giving the appearance of light traveling through water. A bent arm holds the glass in place, with yet another arm holding the lightsource in the center of the luminaire. Erik Gunnar Asplund. Gunnar Asplund GA3 Ceiling / Wall Mouthblown Opaque Glass, Designed in 1930´s
By Erik Gunnar Asplund
Located in Värnamo, SE
GA3 is the versatile light fitting, designed and incorporated as both a ceiling- and a wall luminaire in the original project by Gunnar Asplund. The luminaire consists of a three layered opaque glass which in combination with the light source creates a soft and comfortable light. Visible metal parts in chrome. The versatility, easy maintenance and the timeless design makes GA3 into a fitting that will stand the test of time. In order not to change the unique and original light distribution created by the glass, GA1 will continue to be manufactured for omni-directional lightsources. Gunnar Asplund GA2 Pendant Lamp Mouthblown Opaque Glass, Designed in 1930´s
By Erik Gunnar Asplund
Located in Värnamo, SE
GA2 is a classical globe pendant, save for the distinctive neck. The fitting consists of a mouthblown, three layered opaque glass. The quality of the glass in collaboration with the centered light source creates a uniform, general and diffuse illumination, regardless of what light source is chosen. The timeless design, versatility and the diffused and symmetrical light ensures that GA2 illuminates surfaces in a comfortable way. In order not to change the unique and original light distribution created by the glass, GA1 will continue to be manufactured for omni-directional lightsources. Erik Gunnar Asplund. Gunnar Asplund GA6 Table Lamp, Designed in 1930's
By Erik Gunnar Asplund
Located in Värnamo, SE
GA6 is the luminaire that has a very noble expression, where the combination of brass, mahogany and the structure of the textile hints at Gunnar Asplunds’ famous eye for details. The hardwood together with the polished brass creates a lasting expression, while the structure of the variable textile keeps challenging and draw the gaze to itself. The luminaire was originally created around the lightbulb and will continue to be manufactured around omnidirectional light sources. Mahogany in FSC certified material. Gunnar Asplund GA5 Table Lamp, Designed in 1930´s
By Erik Gunnar Asplund
Located in Värnamo, SE
GA5 is just like GA4 a well-balanced luminaire. Adjustable both at the base as well as at the shade in order to offer the user the possibility to adjust the light after the current situation. The luminaire consist of a spun aluminum shade, cut in an angle in order to follow the surface of the desk, and a bent steel tube. As in the case of GA4 the soft radiuses and the angle of the cut creates a distinct expression.
